The Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG Zone 6 in Calabar, Alhaji Ibrahim Mukhtari is dead crossriverwatch can report.
Alhaji Mukhtari died yesterday at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital UCTH after he was rushed to the hospital for an undisclosed ailment.
The Force Public Relations Officer for Zone 6 Command, SP Okor Okwuchukwu in an emotion laden voice, told crossriverwatch on the phone that: “It’s is very unfortunate that the AIG gave up the ghost yesterday. He just felt ill briefly and was rushed to UCTH and he did not return. He was such a nice man and a very hard working man. May his soul rest in peace.”
Our reporter who went to Zone 6 headquarters, Calabar this morning met men and officers of the command in sober mood.
Some of the police men who our reporter inquired about the death of the AIG from were reluctant to speak on the issue but simply answered ‘na so we hear o’. They were however said to be full of praises for the late AIG.
It was gathered that the AIG has been struggling with an undisclosed ailment for sometimes.
Alhaji Ibrahim Mukhtari was born on April 5, 1957. He resumed as the AIG Zone 6 on August 27, 2012. Until his redeployment to Calabar, he was the AIG in charge of Zone 10 headquarters in Sokoto. He was married with children.
