The peace enjoyed in Cross River State can be attributed to the team work and synergy that exist amongst the heads of security agencies in the state.

Chairman of the State Security Agencies and Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kola Shodipo stated this in an interview during the closing ceremony of the 2013 82 Division of the Nigerian Army Inter-Brigade Combat Proficiency Competition at Ebururtu Cantonment, Calabar.

Shodipo said the inter agency cooperation amongst the service commanders and other security operatives in Cross River State was a crucial component of the peace that the state enjoys while the General Officer Commanding 82 Division of Nigerian Army Enugu, Major General Ashimiyu Adebayo Olaniyi described it as unprecedented.

“We are one united family of the security team In Cross River State, and we work closely without interference in duties, this has added and continue to make Cross River State a peaceful State for all of us”

“No security effort can yield to any meaningful result in a state or society if the security operatives there are working at cross purposes.

“We will continue to work together because we have a common task before us as security operatives working in Cross River State”

The GOC had earlier commended the presence of all the security commanders of the State, describing it as a sign of unity.

He said the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Okwudili Azinta has made him proud for making all the service commanders present at the closing ceremony of the program.

“The cooperation amongst the security agencies in Cross River State is unprecedented and should be emulated by other States.” The GOC said.
