Family sources told CrossRiverWatch that the council Leader has been managing high blood pressure for a couple of years now but took ill about a week ago and could not recover again.

“He has been hypertensive for a number of years now. But about a week or so ago he took ill and went to his private hospital in Obudu from where he was referred to Calabar when the situation deteriorated. Since then, he has been in critical condition until this morning when he gave up the ghost.” The source said.

But I am aware he has been hypertensive. That is the only thing I can say until I see and hear from his wife”.
