The Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Honorable John Owan-Eno has said that the performance of the 2013 budget was not encouraging and was below the expectation of Nigerians.
Speaking with newsmen in Itigidi, Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State ,the federal lawmaker said he hoped that the yet to be passed 2014 federal appropriation bill will do better than that of 2013.
When pressed to mention part of the budget which the House was not satisfied with, the lawmaker who represent Obubra/Etung federal constituency said:
“The House is yet to appraise the 2013 budget sector by sector to be able to give details of the analysis. However like I said, the budget performance was low and was not up to their expectations and bench mark agreed with the executive.
“Nigerians are not too happy with the performance and the House of Representatives as an institution is not too happy too, thank you”.
