As the preparation for the 2014 National Sports Festival continue to gather momentum, the host state of Cross River says all facilities including the indoor sports hall will be ready by August, 2014.
The state Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Mr Patrick Ugbe stated this in his office after inspecting the progress of work at the new indoor sports hall under construction.
Ugbe said the state will deliver the facilities in August in line with the timeline of the government, stressing that Cross River will host the best ever National Sports Festival in the history of Nigeria.
Speaking on the newly introduced Calabar Marathon and Carnival Race slated for April 2014,the Commissioner said the event was introduced to drive sport lovers to Calabar as a build up for the November National Sports Festival.
The Commissioner had earlier visited the construction site of the multi-purpose indoor sports hall as part of his supervising role to ensure a hitch games.
