Kakum Development Association Honors Obudu Council Boss

The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area in Cross River State, Hon. Emmanuel Ugbe has been presented with a congratulatory award for his victory at the polld by Kakum Development Association, Calabar Branch.

Speaking during the award ceremony the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Patrick Ugbe a son of Kakum community and brother of the Chairman expressed contentment with the group urging them to help the Chairman to achieve great things during his tenure.

The Commissioner said, “I am happy that all Kakum sons and daughter under this platform have come not just to award our brother but to also share in his joy thereby contributing ideas to support in the journey of building a better Obudu and Cross River”.

He however advised Hon. Emmanuel not to take for granted the biddings of the people but to weigh all in favor of the entire village maintaining that the only way his administration will be remembered by people is when he works hand in hand with all and sundry in the community.

Hon. Ugbe Emmanuel, Obudu LGA Chairman who was short of words as the award presentation swept him off his feet asserted that since his victory this is the only group that has recognized him and has shown signs of willingness to partner with him to serve the people aright.

The council boss amongst all things promised to work hand in hand with everyone promising that soon all the major aspects of life that have become uncomfortable for the inhabitants of Obudu will be a thing of the past as his government is not going to condone any form of unhealthy attitude be it security, corruption, morality etcetera.

He said though he has not received any funding yet, work is fully going on in his council.
Earlier while presenting the award, the group’s chairman, Dr. Steven Adah commended Hon. Ugbe for taking the name of his village higher urging him to be accountable to his people at all times.

Dr. Adah beckoned on all and sundry to give their support wisely to the chairman urging the council boss not to forget that he comes from a background that’s not known for illegitimate things and thus, should leave up to expectation.

The chairman of the award planning committee, Engr. Paul Bepeh explained that the rationale behind the award is to identify with him as the fore-runner of Obudu, “And as is our tradition in Kakum but he overwhelmed us and from his good records so far we want to associate with him and move Obudu forward.”
