The national sports festival 2014 also tagged “Paradise Games 2014” which coincides with the centenary celebration of Nigeria’s amalgamation promises to be the best Nigeria has ever seen.

Governor of Cross River State Senator Liyel Imoke has asserted as a matter of fact, that Nigerians are bound to witness the “best National Sports Festival ever”, come November.

The Governor disclosed this while receiving members of the Main Organizing Committee of the festival led by the Director General of the National Sports Commission and Chairman of the MOC, Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye, who paid him a courtesy call in Calabar recently.

The Governor assured the director general and his entourage that no effort would be spared to make sure that the state delivers a unique festival.

He added he was looking forward to a sports festival that would not only dovetail into the international Calabar Carnival but will be another opportunity to showcase the rich potential of Cross River State to the world.

It will be recalled that the U.J Esuene Stadium, the main venue of the event was shut last month to allow the state effect comprehensive renovation of the facility in readiness for the games.
