The Cross River state governor, Liyel Imoke, has fulfilled the promise of landed property gifts to the Africa Cup Of Nations’ winners, the Super Eagles.
Nigerian Football Federation president, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, handed over the Certifcate of Occupancy, (C of O) for the third-time triumph of the Keshi-led Eagles.
The NFF president said, “It is my pleasure to present to you the Certificates of Occupancy of plots of land promised you by Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River State, a true lover and supporter of Nigeria football, for your victory at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
“Governor Imoke has once more demonstrated that he is a man of his words. He has also told me that he has something special for you all if you do Nigeria and Africa proud at the FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil. He will be there in Brazil to support you,”
Maigari handed over the documents over to the players, at the W. Buckhead Hotel, after their impressive draw with Mexico in an International friendly, on Wednesday night.
The backroom staff and coaches at Atlanta were also beneficiaries of the promise.
