Paramount Ruler of Obudu Local Government Area, Uti Joseph D. Agba has assured Governor Liyel Imoke and the people of Cross River State that the traditional rulers in the area will lend their support to any capable son of the Northern Senatorial district jointly proclaimed by the people of the area as his successor.
The monarch stated this when the governor paid the traditional rulers from the Northern Senatorial District a visit at the Ogoja traditional council office.
He said the people of Ogoja (Northern Senatorial District) are very pleased with the decision of the governor to zone the governorship slot to the North.
“Your Excellency what you say is what Ogoja people are saying, we would like to assure you that once the people proclaim what they want, we as the traditional fathers assure you of perfect cooperation.
“You are coming down to us as the traditional rulers and we thank you for your visit; we are assuring you of peaceful support from here”. He said.
Governor Imoke had earlier called for the support of the traditional rulers as the custodians of peace in ensuring that Cross River gets a smooth transition come 2015.
