The Senate President, Senator David Mark has thrown his weight behind the ambition of the Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma Egba to return to the senate for a fourth term.

Senator Mark was speaking at the fifth empowerment program of the Senate Leader held yesterday at Government Secondary School, Ikom his home town.

The Senate President noted that the state governor in his speech made an important comment about sustainable empowerment which according to him can only be feasible if the Senate Leader goes back for a fourth term.

His word: “The governor said something vital here today which is sustainable empowerment; how would we have sustainable empowerment? It’s very simple, if Victor Ndoma Egba goes back to the Senate there would be sustainable empowerment, if he doesn’t return, sustainable empowerment cannot be sustained….I hope the language is very clear to those who have ears, go home and spread the message”.

He promised to mobilize his entourage in the red chambers to come in large numbers to support Senator Victor Ndoma Egba when he is declaring his interest for the fourth term bid.

Senator Mark further noted that truly rumors are rife that the Cross River State governor Senator Liyel Imoke is not in good terms with the Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, SAN representing the Central Senatorial District of the state because of his fourth term ambition.

The Senate President said for him the most important message he is taking home with him from the empowerment ground is “the unity between the State Governor and Senator Victor Ndoma Egba.”

According to Mark “The rumors in the air have it that they both have put on their boxing gloves and want to finish each other but it is finished now, that rumor don’t exist any more”. He called on the carriers of the rumor which many held as true to leave the place with a new story that they both are best of friends and are working together for the people of Cross River State.

The Director General of Jedy Agba Campaign Organization, Dr. Sandy Onor also on the occasion, professed his unflinching support for the fourth term bid of the Senate Leader.

While identifying three prime positions in the Senate, he said “In the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria there are three cardinal positions; Senate President, his Deputy and the Senate Leader. The distinguish senators, out of their wisdom chose to crown our son here, Leader of the Senate, as Leader of the Senate he logically leads the Senate”.

Dr. Sandy described Ndoma Egba as a man of great erudition, a man that speaks with patriotism and nationality. “You create harmony, you bring light which electrifies the Senate, we need men like you in Nigeria today, it is for you and men like David Mark who have banished the ugly saga of banana pills off the office of the Senate President that has made the Senate become much respected. You are therefore not single barreled but double barreled”, he said.

He maintained that “On behalf of the good people of Etung we want to pay you back using our tongues, we shall vote for you mightily and exceedingly and build for you another pedestal that will take you back to the senate, God bless you”.
