The delegates that voted at the recent All progressive Congress (APC) state Congress were said to have voted at gunpoint to elect Usani Usani and other state executive members.

The delegates who came from 18 local government areas of the State according to an insider were strictly instructed to vote for Usani Usani who they said was anointed by Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State.

Armed policemen were said to be fully in charge of the venue including the voting arena to ensure that no one breaks or usurp the instruction to vote Usani in as chairman.

The source who preferred anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the matter said Usani was believed to be a thorough person who will take the party to the next level despite the fact that he was not loved by the party members.

“In fact, Usani did not buy form to contest for the position but was given automatic waiver without consultation with party hierarchy.” our source alleged.

Attempts to get Mr. Usani to comment on the matter were still unsuccessful at the time of writing this report.
