Information reaching CrossRiverWatch say the President, National Association of Cross River State Students’ NACRISS, World Wide, Comrade Philomina Agweye Odah has been arrested this morning and she is been kept behind bars at Zone 6 Police headquarters, Calabar for alleged abuse of office, financial misappropriation among others.
CrossRiverWatch was told by the union’s director of information, Comrade Okam Johnson that “This morning a call came to me that the Vice President brought some policemen from Zone 6 and took her to the station, according to what I heard here the VP is accusing her for impersonating her office as the acting president”.
When CrossRiverWatch contacted the impeached Vice President, Comrade Juliet Manyo she said: “We had a case of fraud. One person has been using the union’s money unilaterally, when we have things to do with union’s money we can’t, so we decided to take necessary action for accountability. We don’t know how money comes in and how it is spent. We are not a party to that so we want to follow it legally, for transparency”.
As at the time of filling this report Philomina was still in detention.
