Members of a socio political organization in the Central Senatorial District of Cross River State, Central Progressive Movement, have adopted Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, Nigeria’s Senate Leader to return and represent the Senatorial District in the upper chamber in 2015.
In a communiqué signed by Egiga Agim Obaji the Chairman of the Movement after its general meeting held at Itigidi in Abi Local Government Area of the state, members of the association stated that they are satisfied with the policies and efforts of the Senate Leader towards improving the lot of the people of the district and the state in general.
“Our Movement supports all the policies and programs of PDP led government in the Federal, State and Local government areas especially in the Central Senatorial District of Cross River State”.
The Movement stated that it also supports the leadership qualities of “Our two illustrious sons, Senator Liyel Imoke and Senator Victor Ndoma Egba who have so far represented the Central Senatorial District well and if both vacate office in 2015, a vacuum in political leadership at an influential level to benefit the people of the district will be created”
According to the group, since there is no constitutional limitation for representation at the Senate, it is better for the district to hold onto the Senatorial position in the interest of the district.
“In order for the Central Senatorial District not to lose their two positions since the governor will vacate office in 2015, it is advisable for the Senate Leader to continue therefore we appeal to him to seek re-election come 2015”.
The group listed the programs of the Senate leader which have endeared him to the people to include the free computer training which has so far benefitted over 12,000 people, scholarship scheme, both graduate and post graduate levels which has benefitted more than 1000 students, and the sponsorship of 39 bills, the highest in the country by any single Senator.
“He has also sponsored the highest number of Motions in the Senate making his colleagues to name him the Golden Voice’.
The Movement concluded by assuring the Senate Leader of their commitment to mobilize voters during the PDP primaries and the general election in 2015 to ensure his victory.
