Former Calabar Rovers midfielder, Abraham Fackaa has expressed shock at the level of insults being heaped on most members of the Super Eagles by some Nigerian football fans.

The Super Eagles dream of a historic quarter-final berth at the World Cup was cut short when they were beaten 2-0 by former world champions France in the second round match at the ongoing World Cup in Brazil.

Since after the defeat, most football fans have continued to express their disappointment with some calling the players unprintable names.

Fackaa however said such is not good for the morale of the players who would sooner than later be called upon to begin the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.

He said it is not wrong to criticize players but insulting and calling them all sorts of names is not the right thing to do.

The petit midfielder who also played for BCC Lions of Gboko said “I think Nigerians have the right to express their feelings about the players’ performance but I don’t think it is right for the players to be called names.
