The member representing Etung/Obubra Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Owan Enoh has undertaken the responsibility of roofing the Roman Catholic Church, Ovomun in Obubra Local Government Area as part of his contribution to the development of the area.

Hon Owan Enoh who was the guest of honor at the thanksgiving service held on Sunday said he has been driving past the church and had been wondering the state of the church and now that the thanksgiving service had provided the opportunity to attend service at the church he had to make an impact in the church by taking the responsibility of roofing the church.

“I have been driving past this church and have been wondering what the inside and the roof look like and now that I am here and Reverend Father Ntui has asked for support to roof and floor the church which the estimate says is 1.9million Naira, I shall do that so that next time when I come here the church shall be a different and worthwhile worship place”.

Hon. Owan Enoh commended the good relationship that exists among council chairmen in Cross River State and called for sustenance of the good relationship towards bettering the lot of their people.

Dr. Kyrian Mfam, the Obubra Council Chairman stated that he decided to organize a thanks giving service to express his gratitude to God for his love and mercy by making him the chairman of Obubra against all odds. “Everything was working against me but the grace of God made it possible for me to be chairman and for that reason I have to give him thanks for that special grace”.

He said he plans to add value to his council by erecting a security post and a perimeter fence round the council premises. “The 2014 budget of the council was based on the needs of the communities and after addressing the needs of the various communities I shall add value to the council by erecting a perimeter fence and a security post in the council”.

Dr. Mfam congratulated Senator Liyel Imoke on his 53rd birthday and called on politicians in the state to emulate the exemplary qualities of accountability, integrity, and inclusiveness which are sterling in the governor.
