Hon. Ukpekpen’s Mother Laid To Rest

Late Mrs. Lucy Ukpekpen, mother of Hon. Steve Ukpekpen, member representing Obudu State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, who died last month was yesterday laid to rest in Obudu Local Government.

Reverend Father Bernard Ashipu while officiating the funeral service at the RCM Parish of the Catholic Church along market road in Obudu praised the sterling qualities of late Mrs. Ashipu and prayed for the repose of her soul.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Imoke who attended the service in company of his wife, Obioma Imoke described Mrs. Ukpekpen as a “Good and devout Christian, a forthright woman and a caring mother whose demise has no doubt created a void in her family particularly as she had been a pillar of strength and dependable to her family.”

The governor also donated one million Naira to the church to immortalize late Mrs. Lucy Ukpekpen who died at sixty four years old.
