The National Vice Chairman of the opposition All Progressive Congress, APC South South, Mr. Hilliard Ettah has appealed to aggrieved members of the party in Cross River State not to decamp to the ruling PDP.
Mr. Ettah made the appeal during his recent visit to Cross River State where he held series of reconciliation meetings with aggrieved members of the party from different LGAs across the state.
CrossRiverWatch gathered that the National Vice Chairman also met behind closed doors with some prominent APC stalwarts in the state who are said to have planned to defect to the ruling PDP to pacify them and dissuade them from decamping.
The trouble shooting became necessary following the rancor that greeted the APC Ward, LGA and State conventions in the state where Ettah himself was vying for the State Chairmanship prior to his election at National Vice Chairman South South.
The bitter fall out of the exercise had seen plenty of the members of the party planning to decamp but it remains to be seen whether the visit of the national vice chairman will now make the aggrieved members shelve their plan to join the PDP.
