Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke and the leadership of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in the state have been lauded for zoning the governorship position to northern senatorial district for the 2015 race.
Speaking exclusively to CrossRiverWatch in Calabar, the village head of Etabayip, Kasuk Quo Clan, Calabar Municipality, His Highness, Chief Ededem Okon Ayito, said that the zoning of the state number one political position to the north which has not tested it before is a clear indication that the governor is a man of justice, honor and integrity.
Chief Ayito, a business man and a farmer who is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Edison Prestige Suite and Hotel, Anyangassang, Akpabuyo, opined that he has absolute confidence in the governor that as a democrat, he will never indulge himself in actions that will compromise the tenets of democracy as some people are currently alleging that Imoke wants to impose a governor on the state.
The royal father who is also the Southern Senatorial District Chairman of Catfish Farmers Association of Nigeria (CAFA), and the National Patron of Rebirth Nigeria 2015, and who has been selected by the Institute of Human and Natural Resources, Abuja for an Award of “Golden Icon”, slated for October 4, 2014 at the Transcorp Metropolitan Hotel Calabar, said that Cross Riverians should all work together to ensure the emergence of a governorship candidate from the north and that he has no doubt that the governor and the state leadership of PDP will provide a level playing ground for all the contestants.
He commended governor Imoke for his developmental drive in the state as shown by the numerous rural access roads, electricity, building, renovation and equipping of schools and hospitals, urban roads and empowerment of our youths among others.
