The Ndidem of the Quas, Dr. Thomas Ika Ika Oqua has called on politicians to initiate the process of creating four more Local Government Areas from the existing Akamkpa LGA, Cross River State.
He made the call while speaking at the traditional outing of the Mfon-Fang Fang Onun Ekim/Echi-Atui Mbarakom, His Highness Sylvester Etim Itagbor Nnum-Mgbe held at Mbarakom on Saturday.
His word, “To our politicians, its time Akamkpa is split into four Local Government Areas, prepare a bill on that note”.
In a chat with CrossRiverWatch the Ndidem affirmed that he is an ardent believer in reincarnation, he said. “As a philosopher and one who is widely read in philosophy, there is reincarnation”. Adding that, “To me the churches are doing well but they should do away with false prophets, and if they see a genuine prophet coming without asking for money, or asking them to sow seeds, they should be able to listen”.
Disclosing that “It amazes me that the girl has reincarnated, what she said is nothing but the truth, God has so ordained that she should come at this time because before now we didn’t know which direction to go”.
According to him, “My wish for the new Ntufam is that he listens to advise from his own council, lead the people to keep the laws of the land, pay their tax and support the government”.
“My advice to the people of Mbarakom is that they are really blessed by nature, they should be law abiding, the companies which have come to invest they should try and cooperate with them, they should strongly encourage their sons and daughters to go to school so that in future to come they will also be involved in the administration of these companies on their land”.
The traditional ruler of the Quas was optimistic that the future is bright for Mbarakom, his words: “I believe the future is very bright for the community, because you see God has endowed her with the clairvoyance of telling them what they should do, I am happy that my chiefs and kings in Mbarakom that are part of the Ejagham nation are re-enacting their old time tradition in keeping what they have met in their archives, by bringing somebody who is of royal lineage in the Quo nation, Ejagham nation to lead them”.
It will be recalled that earlier in the year, a three year old girl said to be the reincarnation of a late King from the community returned home and helped to settle disputes and returned peace to the community that has been in turmoil for years.
