As part of the his plan to properly reposition the tourism potentials in the Cross River northern senatorial district, Hon. Larry Odey, Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly and 2015 governorship aspirant, has said that the people of Bebi in Obanlikwu Local Government Area may lose the right of a host community to the Airstrip in the area to another Council in the north.
Hon. Larry Odey who disclosed this during his interaction with the PDP caucuses of Calabar Municipality and Odukpani in Calabar on Thursday said that when elected governor, he may consider the relocation of the Bebi Airstrip from Bebi to Bekwarra, Ogoja or Yala that are hills free.
He explained that this may become necessary if the hills of Obudu and Obanlikwu are the obstacles to the proper utilization of the Air Strip.
The speaker also disclosed that when elected governor by the grace of God, he will relocate the Watt Market in Calabar from the heart of the city and build a world class shopping mall in its stead
He said he will aggressively pursue the development of agriculture, youth empowerment, gender mainstreaming among others.
