Africa Travel Quarterly, organizers of AKWAABA and Africa Travel Awards 2014, have named Carnival Calabar as the best Tourism event in West Africa 2014.
Calabar Carnival was chosen by the Organizers of Akwaaba based on its Popularity, Success and Consistency over the years.
The award was given to the Chairman of the Carnival Commission, Mr. Gabe Onah and Senator Ita Giwa in Lagos on October 26, 2014.
In his reaction, Mr. Gabe Onah said: “It is our belief that this award coming at the time we are commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Carnival Calabar road march is placing a seal of approval on our efforts to institutionalize the carnival arts and industry as a platform to create jobs and change lives.”
