Jedy Agba Returns, Says PDP Caucus Screening Is Laughable

Former, Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Department GGM COMD, of the Nigeria National Petroleum Cooperation, NNPC and 2015 governorship aspirant in Cross River State, Prince Goddy Jedy Agba, arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja in the early hours of this morning from London where he has been recuperating after a health trip in a German hospital.

Jedy Agba whose absence for over a month has stirred not a little controversy in political circles across the state arrived in his usual high spirit cheering everyone who was on hand to welcome him.

On arrival, he simply assured everyone that he is now back, stronger and refreshed as well as set for the task ahead. Jedy who obviously was not yet in the mood to talk to the Press was immediately driven home after exchanging pleasantries with well wishers.

His campaign office informed CrossRiverWatch that the arrival of the Obudu Prince will not only calm the anxiety among his supporters but will also set the tone for commencement of activities that will expose the “frolic that the party in the state is calling screening.”

While reacting to the emergence of five aspirants from the state wide consultations that the PDP aspirants have done with their caucuses, the Director General of the Jedy Agba Campaign Organization, Dr. Sandy Onor described the exercise as laughable and of no effect on who become the PDP flag bearer.

He said: “The whole thing is very laughable. If we were still in the period when we were doing consensus, then the party at the national level would have reserved only one nomination form for the state.

“They have a to right engage in their own frolic just as we have the right to run for the exalted office of governor of Cross River State. Goddy Jedy Agba is back to the country for real, completely healthy and ready to do the needful to win the PDP ticket.

“While respecting all members of the respective caucuses, we make bold to state that caucuses are not known to be part of the process of nominating a candidate for our great party. We shall forge ahead, conversing with all stakeholders in our great party until victory is assured.

“So how what they have done amounts to anything is best known to them. We have collected both the Intent Form from the PDP in the State and the Nomination Form from the party headquarters as required by our party. We have filled and submitted the form and we are preparing for the primaries.

“We do not have any business with what the caucuses are doing, it is those who put them together that know what they wanted to achieve with it. We are assuring our teeming supporters that our Governorship aspirant, after taking proper care of himself, has returned and activities are getting underway immediately.”

This should be a defining moment for the Cross River State electorate in determining the candidate that will focus on their needs and aspirations rather than the agenda of a select power brokers. Any governorship aspirant who submits to a caucus screening definitely illustrates the fact that he or she is beholden to a certain interest group rather than the people who will cast their vote for governor of the state. The caucus screening curtails the right of the electorate to choose who should represent them by limiting the pool of aspirants available to choose from. Prince Jeddy Agba stands out from the groveling crowd of aspirants by not submitting himself to this charade and bastardization of the democratic process.

The era of hand picking candidates for the people will end in the present administration. I accept that the exercise is laughable because the people will speak their minds in the present political scenario. We know the tricks they want to play. PDP Cross River State has changed and the metamorphosing phase is glaring as everyone can see. Donald Duke deceived Tim Omang then in playing Dr Walter Eneji who was his very Deputy. Greshom is playing for time and among the 5 anointed candidates we hear they are searching for a Deputy to Gershom Bassey whose posters are out for Senate. I keep asking, who is fooling who? There is a paradigm shift in the arrangement now and we all need to know this. However, when there is an opponent in a game, it gets sweeter. It will be GoddyJedy-Agba, the people’s candidate against the other 5. Keen struggle indeed.

What is Democracy? Power of the people from the people to the people.but we are gradually adulterating this definition to something we don’t know.it has been Nigerianised into Power of the few(elites) from to the foolish people.I am not criticised the decisions of our Elites but I beg them to allow use choose who to lead us.some elites are not transparent to decide who control our resource.all they need is there pockets not public interest.Say No to Godfatherism,patrimonialism,prebendalism and political thuggery.God give us the Leaders of our Dreamz.God Bless CRSM

Jedy Agba is the right man for the job. A diary titled “50 REASONS WHY JEDY AGBA, OFR SHOULD BE GOVERNOR OF CROSS RIVER STATE IN 2015” would be published soon by cross river youth vanguard for jedy. this piece would enable the entire cross riverians to know who really the man Jedy is.
