A public transport driver in Bakassi, popularly known as Santos, was today confirmed dead along with two passengers, at about 9:00pm after series of gun shots at a gas station in Ikang, Bakassi LGA in Cross River State.

Eye witness said that the driver was about fueling his vehicle with two passengers on board when some unknown gunmen, dressed in red and black, immediately stormed the gas station with arms.

Pump attendants and passersby took to their heels. The deceased driver tried to maneuver his way through the ensuing melee but was caught by the bullets of the blood tasty gang.

Remains of the driver were taken to his residence where his wife, children and community members mourned his demise.
