The new Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC for Cross River State
Dr. Okey Ezeani has said that he has contacted the National Vice Chairman, South South of the All Progressives Congress, APC to retract the statement credited to him in the media alleging that he (REC) is a card carrying member of the ruling PDP.
The REC who spoke in Calabar during the handing over ceremony and send off for the former REC, Mr. Mike Igini said for the APC to accuse him of unsubstantiated claims and ask for his redeployment over what the party described as his antecedents clearly meant that those who made the statement do not know him at all.
“The accusation is a fallacy. They do not even know who I am. That information is wrong and we have contacted Hilliard Eta to retract that accusation.”
He assured Cross Riverians that he will build on the credibility that Igini is leaving behind and work with the staff to ensure a free and fair election in the state next month.
