Cross River State governor, Senator Liyel Imoke, has assured the people of the state that all ongoing projects undertaken by his administration will be completed before the May 29 handover date.
Governor Imoke who gave the assurance in a New Year message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Christian Ita, said no projects will be left uncompleted, adding that “all ongoing projects such as the Calabar International Convention Centre (CICC), the 18-Hole international Golf Course, the Ogoja township stadium, among others will be completed and ready for use before May 29, 2015.”
While urging Cross Riverians to take the prevailing peace in the state into the New Year, Governor Imoke said: “The year gone by might have shown a grim state of affairs, with stories of bloodshed, tragedy and human failures all around the world, but we in Cross River have enjoyed the peace for which we are known. May the excitement of a new year bring with it an anticipation of a better future.”
Assuring the people of a smooth transition, Imoke said: “The new year stands before us like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. We can help write that story by setting goals. And one of such goals is a promised smooth and successful transition through free, fair and transparent election in February.”
Governor Imoke similarly charged Cross Riverians to believe in themselves and take a leap of faith as they march into the new year. “Take a leap of faith and begin this wondrous new year by believing. Believing in ourselves as a people. And believe that there is hope for tomorrow.”
