Just days after gunning down an alleged robber and apprehending a second member of the gang, men of the Nigeria Police, Calabar have again foiled another robbery attempt leaving the two suspects dead.

This was made known by the State Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Hogan Bassey while briefing journalists at the force Headquarters, Diamond Hill, Calabar.

His words, “Today I am proud to tell you that our working round the clock has yielded another fruit, recently you will agree with me there is a slight increase in robbery in the state”.

Continuing, Hogan said: “For us to prove that we have security agencies in the state is to work round the clock, you will also agree with me that the MCC area of Calabar has been under raid by robbers but today luck ran out of two that have been gunned down”.

According to him, the robbery incident occurred at No. 8/15 Efio Akabom Street Calabar, adding that “People around the environment performed their social responsibilities by informing the police on time which has led to this huge success”.

The PRO informed that the robbers were killed in gun battle, as he urged the general public to always perform their civic responsibilities by always informing the police with reliable information that will help combat crime.
