The Nigeria Police, Cross River State Command has arrested four suspected hoodlums that masterminded the Mkpani crisis which led to the death of one person during the last Saturday Governorship and House of Assembly Election.

The Police Commissioner, Henry Fadairo confirmed the arrest during a chat with Newsmen yesterday.

Fadairo who‎ said the elections were violent free in major parts of the state except for Mkpani in Yakurr LGA and few other areas said the four suspects arrested will be charged to court after investigations.

“The election was very peaceful across the state, the issue we have is in Mkpani where fracas between the supporters of the major candidates led to the death of one person while the other was injured.

“One house ‎got burnt, but the good news was that we have arrested some of them and they will be investigated and if found wanting will be charged to court.” The commissioner assured.
