The gubernatorial candidate of the Labor Party in Cross River State, Fidelis Ugbo has assured his supporters that he will not decamp to the All Progressives Congress but instead will form a formidable ally with the party as a progressive.

Ugbo stated this in his Obanlikwu country home while addressing his supporters shortly after casting his vote.

He said the decision to form an alliance will be a collective one and not an individual decision, stressing that forming alliance with APC is a welcomed development which the enlarged Labor party family will decide rather than decamping.

Ugbo said he was satisfied with the security arrangement during the election.

“The decision of forming an alliance with APC will be taken in consultation with the party members.

“I believe that Labor party can form a formidable alliance with APC, but the issue of decamping doesn’t arise because the two parties are registered with clear identity ‎and we have to get the popular opinion of the stakeholders before such decision can be taken.

“I’m going to win convincingly ‎ and there will be no need for any rerun at the end of the election.” he said.
