The students union government of the University of Calabar has joined thousands of well wishers within and outside the state to congratulate the governor elect for Cross River state, Senator Benedict Ayade, who emerged recently in the gubernatorial elections with a land slide victory to defeat candidates of other political parties.

The congratulatory message which was jointly signed by the SUG President, Comrade Ajang Emmanuel and the General Secretary, Comrade Aniah Paschal, and made available to CrossRiverWatch, described Ayade’s victory as the people’s voice, owing to the fact that the state seriously need men like him to revive the dormant economy.

The message reads in parts “We wish to congratulate the newly elected governor of the state, Prof. Ayade and we wish him divine protection all through his administration.”

The message further expressed hope that at the end of the Ayade’s tenure as governor, the education sector of the state shall witness uncommon transformation, and Cross River state shall be deleted from the list of states in the educationally disadvantaged category, owing to the fact that the governor elect is an academic professor.

The SUG further urge Prof. Ayade to recommend the incumbent vice chancellor of the University, Prof. James Epoke for ministerial appointment, shortly after his tenure, due to his tremendous infrastructural development recorded in the institution, as the nation needs men like him.
