EFCC Begins Investigation Of Allocations To 18 Local Governments In Cross River State

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has commenced investigation into the expenditure of allocation to 18 Local Government Councils in Cross River State.

This was disclosed in a letter with reference number CR: 300/EFCC/ABJ/EGT10/VOL. 23/221 dated the 7th May 2015 signed by Olufunke Adetayo Ogunbode, Head Economic Governance in the EFCC, written to Messrs Obono, Obono & Associates, Legal Practitioners & Consultants titled “LETTER OF INVITATION RE: PETITION FOR THE INVESTIGATION OF EXPENDITURE OF ALLOCATION TO 18 LOCAL GOVT. COUNCIL IN CROSS RIVER STATE”

The letter which was made available to CrossRiverWatch reads as follow: We write to acknowledge the receipt of your petition on the above subject and wish to inform that investigation into the matter has commenced.

2. In view of the above, you are kindly requested to be interviewed by the undersigned through Mrs. Evbotokhai Oluwatoyin as scheduled below:

DATE: Tuesday, 12th May, 2015

Venue: Block C, No. 5 Fomella Street, Off Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Wuse 11, Abuja.

Time: 10am prompt

The investigation is sequel to the request for the anti graft commission to look into the expenditure of allocation to the 18 Local Government Councils in Cross River State, and other sundry issues submitted by the law firm of Obono Obla and Co. to the EFCC last month.
