Three suspects have been arrested in connection to the case of a lady beaten and burnt to death in Obudu on Sunday May 3, 2015 CrossRiverWatch gathered from reliable sources.
“The suspects (names withheld) have been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department CID in Calabar for further investigations and subsequent prosecution” says the source.
The Special Adviser, SA on Peace and Security in Obudu local government area while speaking with our reporter in a telephone interview say the details of the deceased are now known to security operatives in charge of the case and relevant authorities but however stressed that the lady was from Obanliku local government area and not Alege in Obudu as earlier believed.
He also confirmed that three suspects have been arrested and transferred to the state CID in Calabar.
It will be recalled that CrossRiverwatch earlier reported the incident in a report titled ” OBUDU: Lady Accused Of Witchcraft, Beaten And Burnt To Death” on May 6, 2015.
