A corpse of man believed to be a mad man has been lying in the middle of Eastern High road by Goldie road, Calabar Cross River State.

Residents around the area say the corpse has been lying there since early hours of Friday 3rd July, 2015.

A call to the Cross River State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Hogan Bassey confirmed to CrossRiverWatch that the corpse is that of a mad man but did not give the identity or course of death of the man.

He however revealed that the environmental unit of the state has taken permission from the police to get rid of the fast decomposing corpse.

At the time of filing this report, it was not clear whether the corpse had been evacuated or not.
