Mr. Uchenna Joseph Obilonu of No. 4 Akpanim Street, Off Goldie Road, Calabar South has been shot dead by unknown group of armed men.
The incident occurred at his one room self contained apartment at about 8:45pm last, Wednesday, 9th September 2015.
The lawyer whose firm manages the property, James Ibor, Esq. of Basic Right Counsel, BRC Calabar who disclosed to CrossRiverWatch revealed that, “I received a distress call from some tenants of the property that they heard two gunshots in Joseph’s room; immediately I rushed there only to see his corpse lying on the floor.
“According to them the suspects who had been with him inside his room for over an hour were seen as they drove out with speed in their Sport Utility Vehicle, SUV at about 8:45pm. The car was parked right in front of his house in a get-away position, they also affirmed that they had over heated arguments after which two gunshots was fired”.
The deceased is said to be a business man who sales “okrika” (used clothes) and he is from Owerri, Imo State.
As at the time of filling this report the Police had been informed and are said to be on the matter while his remains had been deposited in the morgue. The course of his killing is also still unknown
