Abi Chairman Commends Obol Lopon Of Ugep Over Peace Move

The Chairman of Abi Local Government Council, Hon. Edith Amadi has commended the new Obol Lopon of Ugep, Obol Ofem Ubana Eteng over his resolve to restore permanent peace in the warring Ediba and Usumutong communities of Abi.

Hon. Amadi who gave the commendation recently at a peace meeting in Ugep which was at the instance of the revered Yakurr Monarch, also expressed satisfaction over the initiative and the willingness of affected parties to cease hostilities and embrace peace.

While vowing to ensure that harmony was maintained between the two communities of Ediba and Osumutong, the Chairman posited that her administration would not tolerate any further breach of the peace accord neither would the government condone any violation of the peace process.

She also commended the efforts of security agencies at curbing insecurity and youth restiveness in the area, assuring that the council would support every effort geared at returning permanent peace to the troubled communities.
