One Flee As Police Arrest Suspected Robber In Ogoja, Recover N620,000

The Police in Cross River says it has arrested an armed robbery suspect and recovered N620,000 from him.

The police command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP John Eluu, told journalists in Calabar that the suspect was arrested on February 17 in Ogoja local government area of the state.

“On the 17th of February 2016, our men from the Ogoja Area Command received information that two hoodlums were using a red motor bike to operate at Ijibor area of Ogoja.

“The two suspects snatched the sum of N900,000 from one Mr. Titus Eke and ran away.

“The police immediately gave them a hot chase and arrested one Onyiorye Chukwu with the sum of N620,000 only and the motor bike used for the operation,’’ the police spokesman said.

He said that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the other fleeing suspect, adding that after completion of investigation the suspect would be charged to court.
