Ex FCE Obudu Provost, Eugene Ibli Laid To Rest

The remains of the immediate past Provost of the Federal College of Education, Obudu, Eugene Ibli, was laid to rest Saturday, in his native Ohong village in Obudu local government.

Ibli, who served as Provost of the institution from 2011 till 2015 passed away on Wednesday April 20, 2016 after a brief illness with family, friends, colleagues and well wishers convening in his family compound last weekend to bid him farewell.

Survived by his wife and five children, Ibli’s final journey began Friday when a brief commemoration service was held in his honor at the college premises with students and staff of the College in attendance before leaving for Catholic funeral mass at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Obudu which preceded a wake keep in his family compound at Ohong where on Saturday morning after a mass, was buried.

A Catholic Knight in the Order of Saint Mulumba, Ibli who had held several positions and recipient of several awards is reputed to be the only Provost of the College in the past decade to have won the Best Provost of the Year in the 2012/2013 academic session.
