Cross River Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has failed to announce the 300 new appointments as promised 3 weeks ago.
As reported by CrossRiverWatch, Ayade told journalists in a media parley that he will appoint 300 more people as part of his administration’s policy to engage more Cross Riverians and bring youths into governance and tutor them.
Ayade who posited that if anyone understood the politics of third world countries, then they will understand why his administration decided to increase the number of appointments from about 98 to over 800, pointed out that “We have a new list of about 300 to be appointed which will be announced next week.”
The governor made this statement on August 24, 2016 and 3 weeks on, has failed to announce the appointments.
However, his spokesperson and Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Christian Ita told CrossRiverWatch on phone that the Governor is still working on the list.
It is unclear why the governor who has come under criticism for expanding government is appointing 300 more people for.
However sources say that the governor is planning to have liason officers in each of the 196 political wards in the state.
