All Set For Cross Riverians To Apply For FG’s 10,000 Free Surgeries – Health Boss, Asibong

Cross River Health Commissioner, Dr. Inyang Asibong says all is now set for indigent Nigerians residing in Cross River State to apply for the Rapid Response Initiative (RRI) program of the federal government.

Asibong disclosed this recently in a meeting relevant stakeholders held at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH),one of the venues for the 10,000 free surgeries program.

She said that health workers recruited for the program by the health ministry will conduct a statewide screening exercise including the prisons and other government holding facilities to ensure that anybody suffering from any ailments which can be treated is properly documented in order to benefit from the scheme.

Aso, she called on all to report cases and urged Cross Riverians to avail themselves of the opportunity.

The UCTH is set to carry out surgeries on Herniorraphy, Hydrocelectomy, Cataract surgeries as well as free screenings for Hepatitis B and Diabetes Mellitus.
