A book titled, “Ada Bekwara: Biography of Chief Linus Okom”, written by his wife, Dr. Monica Okom is holding today Thursday 22, 2016.
The event holding at the Kolanut event Center, Barracks Road, Calabar is starting about now, (noon) and eminent personalities including veteran politicians, captains of industry, religious leaders, women’s groups, and top government functionaries are expected to grace the occasion.
The Okoms will use the opportunity of the public presentation event to launch an educational foundation, the Okom Development Foundation through which they plan to support academically exceptional but indigent students at the secondary school level.
The book is an intimate account of the exploits of the elder statesman, Chief Linus Okom, highlighting the pains and gains of his over 40 years of active leadership in the state and his involvement in the fight for the creation of Cross River State, enthronement of democracy, and creation of employment opportunities for Cross River youths among other things.
The author, Dr. Monica Okom, his wife, is an accomplished professional nurse and she holds a doctorate degree in medical sociology.
This biography is a brilliant narrative of over 40 years of their marriage.
