The management of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has advertised for the job of a Bursar for the institution less than a month after sacking the embattled former Bursar, Peter Agi for misconduct.
A notice signed by the Registrar, Moses Abang stipulated that the applicant must hold a B.Sc in accounting not lower than Second Class lower division from a reputable University or a HND in accounting with no fewer than 15 years of post graduate experience and must be a member of at least one accounting professional body among ACA, ANAN or ACCA.
Interested applicants are expected to file in 15 copies of their applications including up to date curriculum vitas and 3 referees who will also send confidential reports of the applicant to the Registrar directly.
Applications are to be submitted within six weeks and addressed to; “The Registrar University of Calabar P.M.B 1115 Calabar.”
The Varsity’s management had suspended the former Bursar, on August 22, 2016 for corruption, threat to life among others, shortly after a demonstration by staff with ‘foreign’ elements involved in the process.
The Governing Council of the institution approved the suspension about 2 weeks later before his eventual sack earlier in November 2016.
