Agi Vs Ayade: Again, Ayade’s Supporters Brandish Casket With Agi’s Name

By CrossRiverWatch Admin

Supporters of Cross River Governor, Ben Ayade again Monday in Calabar brandished a casket to welcome the governor back, 10 days after the Supreme Court had affirmed him as the Governor of the state dismissing all petitions filed by Barrister Joe Agi (SAN) seeking to remove him for perjury.

The supporters who dressed in different regalia with red color with “ID BOYS” boldly written on the vests, brandished a casket with the inscription; “Joe Agi, Gone Too Soon” on it.

CrossRiverWatch had earlier reported that the same group had branded a casket with the inscription “RIP Joe Agi” a few weeks ago when counsel to the first respondent (PDP) had sought to withdraw support for the second respondent (Ayade) and apologized to the court for fielding him despite noticing irregularities in his date of birth.

This time, the suspected gangsters blocked an entire lane of IBB way leading to the airport and inscribed several anti-Agi messages including “Agi finally died at the Supreme Court” and “Rest In Peace Agi” on Tricycles while drinking what seemed like local gin and smoking marijuana in the open.

Traffic was redirected as they caused gridlock on the route with the convoy of the Governor heading to the Airport and that of his Wife forced to use the opposite lane.

Some government appointees traded tackles with opposition party members and critics during the first incidence with some aides of the Governor claiming fault for the incidence.

However, nothing has been heard concerning who sponsored the ID BOYS to brandish a casket the second time.
