Reports reaching CrossRiverWatch indicates that there is massive renovation work ongoing at Government House Calabar in preparation for the yuletide and New Year.
Our Government House Correspondent, Jonathan Ugbal reports that since last week, decorations for the yuletide were carried out unlike last year where the premises was not decorated.
“Carpenters, Painters and Handymen are everywhere and work far into the night replacing broken armrests along the staircase, doors and the floor wood designs with tiles” Jonathan said.
Also, a tech team is currently installing Communication facilities to provide internet for the office.
Jonathan also reports that knocks, bangs and hammering sounds continuously rent the air in the the usually quiet office.
This is the first major rehabilitation been carried out since incumbent Governor Ben Ayade assumed office on May 29, 2015 with most of the toilets and other facilities as well as lighting going bad in most of the offices.
