Ugep Gangstar Wars: I Will Only Apologize To Obol Lopon In My Grave – Obono Obla

The Special Adviser to the President on Prosecution, Okoi Obono-Obla has said that his decision to write the Police to investigate the murder of his nephew, Jude Iroegbu Junior does not amount to the desecration of the stool of the Obol Lopon of Ugep, hence there is no need to apologize.

Obla made this known via a post on Facebook; a reaction to the alleged decision of the cabinet of the Obol Lopon of Ugep, Obol Ofem Ubana at a meeting held Saturday that he (Obla) should tender an unreserved apology to the Obol Lopon after fingering the monarch for been a distant cause of the recent gangstar wars in Ugep having surrounded himself with gangstars as bodyguards,

But, Obla said he was surprised that the monarchs were “trivializing” a matter as serious as murder.

The post read in parts, “Amazed and flummoxed at the resolution reached at the Assembly convened by Obol Lopon of Ugep yesterday carefully well scripted and calculated to sweep under the carpet the gruesome murder of a young man, Jude Iroegbu Junior by blood thirsty cultists and terrorists on the 29 June 2017 operating within the precinct of the Obol Lopon Palace.

“Why are they trying to personalize this serious matter?

“So I do not have the right to demand justice for those who murdered this young man?

“Those who are thinking that they would employ subterfuge, threats, intimidation, chicanery and inferior tactics to terminate the investigation of this murder are surely wasting their time.

“Surely it is going to be long drawn battle. One of the resolutions reached that Okoi Obono-Obla should render an apology to Obol Lopon for alleged dragging the “Stool of Ugep” into the mud is ridiculous and preposterous.

“Why are they trying to trivialize this grave matter? So, writing to the Police to investigate this hideous crime amounts to desecration of the Stool? Was the brutal and gruesome murder of Junior by his kinsmen not tantamount to desecration of Ugep tradition and customs?

“Apology my foot! I will only apologize inside my grave! This matter must be pursued to its logical conclusion. No retreat no surrender!”

CrossRiverWatch recalls that, there has been recent unrest in Ugep, the headquarters of Yakurr Local Government as a result of incessant cult wars, one of which led to the brutal murder of one Jude Iroegbu Junior, a nephew to the President’s aide.

Jude was allegedly murdered by bodyguards of the Obol Lopon suspected to be members of a rival gang, Axemen whom Jude’s gang, the Vikings have consistently argued are being used by the Obol Lopon to hunt them after a melee at the Obol’s palace wherethe Vikings had allegedly come to brief Obol Ofem of their finidngs regarding a missing Axeman.

Jude’s death caused Obla to name almost 30 people, a list he made public and forwarded to the Inspector General of Police and Cross River State Governor, Benedict Ayade.

But, Obol Ofem had earlier in the year declared war on gangstars and said that his leadership will not condone any form of gangstarism.
