Governor Ben Ayade was forced to sleep in his Mega Hilton hotel in Obudu when he visited the local government for the burial of his late step mother on Friday.

Other members of his entourage slept in other hotels in Ogoja and Obudu local government areas.

The Ranch was last weekend shut down as the ultimatum issued by staff over unpaid remunerations elapsed.

Also affected were contestants for the Miss Africa beauty pageant who were scheduled to visit the ranch as the first phase of their camping exercise but could not.

CrossRiverWatch gathered that several bookings running into millions of Naira have been paid to the ranch by intending local and international visitors, most of whom are now been affected by the industrial action.

It is unclear if Government has met with the union so far.
