The Cross River State Government has announced the extension of the deadline for entries for the maiden Linda Ayade literary arts and Afi Ekong visual arts competitions.
A statement from the Department of Creative and Knowledge Economy signed by the Head, Mr. Emmanuel Etim said the new deadline is February 28, 2017.
“We announce the extension of the closing of entries for both the Linda Ayade Literary Art Competition and the Afi Ekong Visual Art Competition to enable more creative citizens participate in the competition.
“The new date for close of entries will now be the 28th of Febraury, 2018. The general public is to note that there will be no further extension beyond this date,” the statement read and urged more people to avail themselves of the opportunity.
“We are encouraged by the number of registrations and submissions so far and impressed with the quality of creative work being submitted by Cross Riverians and people living in Cross River State.
“Many more creative citizens are encouraged to make the best of the opportunity the extension presents to register and submit their creative work to stand the chance of winning the coveted prize,” the Department said.
The competitions are divided into several categories which include junior and senior; with prizes to be won according to an earlier statement by the Department.
