Youths advocate, Engineer Wofai Ewa has declared his ambition to run for the position of the member representing Abi/Yakurr federal constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ewa took to Facebook to declare his ambition on Christmas day 2017 where he wrote: “I am on this day of the birth Christ and by the Christmas message, throwing my hat in the ring to contest for a seat in the federal house of representative, proposing to represent the great people of the Abi/Yakurr federal constituency in the 2019 general election.”
He later told CrossRiverWatch on phone that: “With deep sense of responsibility, I will like to publicly declare my intention to seek the ticket/mandate of our great party APC to contest the 2019 Abi/Yakurr House of Representative election.
“I urge that all hands should be on deck to ensure victory at the 2019 Presidential, Governorship, House of Representatives etcetera election for our great party APC in 2019.
“I am convinced that a glorious future is beckoning cross river state. Such a future requires sacrifice of self, malice to none, fairness to all, respect for law and courage to change.
“Mine is an abiding commitment to the progressive cardinal programs of our great party All Progressive Congress (APC),” which according to him, includes: “The provision of education, health, rural development and gainful employment.
“If given the mandate, I will consistently seek to reduce the burdensome cost of government so that funds will be available for capital projects and the rapid modernization of infrastructure that will enhance Abi and Yakurr, and Cross River in general.”
Ewa hails from Yakurr local government area and is seeking to unseat three term Rep. Bassey Eko Ewa who hails from Yakurr also.
