The Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has offered immediate employment to Miss Ima-Obong Etim who emerged as the best batch A stream 1, 2017 NationalYouth Service Corps (NYSC) member in the State.
Ayade made the pronouncement at the U J Esuene stadium during the Passing Out Parade of the 2017 batch A stream 1 corps members directing that Miss Etim be enrolled straight into the State Civil Service.
The Governor represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Asu Okang who doubles as the State Chairman, NYSC Governing Board, pledged his administration’s support to the welfare of corps members in the State.
He assured the serving corps members of Government commitment to fulfilling its promise of constant payment of monthly allowance which has suffered some technical issues due to regularization of the entire process.
Speaking earlier, the State Coordinator of NYSC Lady Eniola Ambekemo, commended the State Government for the effort and commitment put into uplifting the welfare of corps members.
The coordinator announced the extension of service year of 5 corps members for various offences adding that 8 persons absconded.
She charged the passing out corps members to be good ambassadors of the scheme and take advantage of the SAED program learnt in the camp and post camp training to start a life that will be beneficial to them and the society at large.
Miss Etim studied Micro Biology/Biochemistry from the Federal Polytechnic Nekede and was mobilized and deployed to Cross River for the one year mandatory service.
