JUST IN: Ayade’s Aides Attack Journalist In Obudu

Two aides of Cross River Governor, Senator Ben Ayade on Saturday morning attacked a journalist, Peter Inyali for allegedly reporting issues that do not portray the state in positive light.

Mr. Inyali is the publisher of FEARLESS Reports, an online news platform.

The attacked happened in Obudu at the wake keep of the late former accountant general of Cross River State, Mr. Innocent Adie.

Inyali described it as “an assassination attempt,” and said it occurred at about 12:27AM with the Special Adviser on petroleum, Mr. Boniface Ishamali and the Special Assistant on research and branding, Mr. Christian Odey masterminded the attack.

“Immediately I arrived the funeral grounds, I started noticing some unusual movement around me.

“One of the boys I don’t know but I saw seating with Ukpan (Mr. Odey) and Bonny (Mr. Ishamali) was repeatedly calling me to a dark spot but I refused to oblige knowing that I don’t know him and I was suspecting that there was a plan to attack me.

“After I refused to follow him the last time, few minutes later, Bonny just came from nowhere with Ukpan to attack me with their boys,” said Mr. Inyali.

He alleged that they kept saying: “You know how to write about the Governor, we will mend you today,” in Bette language.”

However, he was rescued by mobile policemen attached to some personalities.

Mr. Odey had on August 9, 2017 directed his aide to beat up a staff of CrossRiverWatch, an allegation he had denied.
