Cross River State Chief Judge, Justice Michael Edem, has urged Civil Servants in the State to shun playing partisan politics.
The admonition was given Friday while addressing newsmen after the valedictory Service of late Hon. Stephen Akomaye Ukpukpen, at the State House of Assembly Complex.
Mr. Edem while responding to his evaluation of the State Civil Service said that “The Civil Service Commission is the engine room of the Government, and that workers should strive as much as possible not to take sides with any particular Government, but rather work without fear or favoritism.”
Speaking further, Justice Edem called on all Civil Servants in the State to remain loyal as “loyalty is the watchword at all times.” He said.
He concluded by appreciating the Governor of the State, Senator Ben Ayade for his efforts in strengthening the Civil Service, and hopes that the efforts of the present administration will come to fruition in no time.
