Cross River Governor, Senator Ben Ayade on Tuesday presented twelve cars to the different divisions of the Cross River Water Board Limited and the winners of the different competitions of the Leboku festival.
Nine of the vehicles, Toyota Hilux vans were presented to the new general managers of the water board limited; two Hyundai Elantra GLS saloon cars were presented to the winners of the 2018 Leboku pageant and a Toyota Diana pickup truck to the best farmer at the 2018 Leboku festival.
Mr. Ayade presented the Toyota Hilux vans by himself at a brief ceremony at the premises of the Water Board limited shortly before departing to Abi for a town hall meeting.
It is expected that the vehicles will aid the operations of the water board divisions in Obudu, Ogoja, Ikom, Ugep/Ediba, Itigidi, Okpoma, Calabar, Obubra and Akampkpa.
Meanwhile, the Obol Lopon of Ugep, Obol Ofem Ubana presented the vehicles to the winners of the pageant and farming competitions in Ugep, Yakurr local government area.
The presentation was made in the presence of Mr. Ayade’s Special Assistant on Administration, Mr. Noel Ugbong.
CrossRiverWatch had reported that the first runner up in the 2017 edition emerged as winners this year with Governor Ayade conferred with the title of ‘King of Light’ by the traditional rulers council.
